The Balladeer's Best: "Blah Blah Blah" by Brother Ali Ft. Slug

So the Balladeer’s got this little playlist he wants to share with you all. He calls it The Balladeer's Best. Lame, we know. We've been working with him to come up with a catchier name, but he's a stubborn buck. Regardless, the #music on this playlist is solid: a mix of #funk, #blues, #RandB, #rap and all kinds of other up-tempo cross-genres that help get The Balladeer hyped before he performs. Each of these songs, either through their general vibe or their particular lyrics and musicality, has informed and shaped The Balladeer's telling of The Ballad of Lumber Jackson.

This week's song, "Blah Blah Blah", starts with a funky and incredibly catchy horn sample that morphs into the backdrop of this diss track rap duet between Brother Ali and Slug. This song's infectious beat and hilarious lyrics helped us create the teasing yet playful tone in the conversation between Langston and Law as they run away from the Giant Molizard.
